Tibetan Buddhist Monastery

Sarnath Tibetan Buddhist Monastery is one of the many Buddhist monasteries and religious institution located in the Buddhist pilgrimage site of Sarnath, India. As Sarnath is believed to be the site where Buddha first preached his sermon, the various Buddhism sects establish their monateries according to their respective styles.
The Tibetan Buddhist Monastery wastes no time in condemning the Chinese occupation of Tibet. This it proclaims on the wall even before one enters the monastery. According to the monastery, under the guise of liberating Tibet, the Chinese have progressively wiped out the Tibetans as a distinct race and erased Tibetan culture from the face of the earth.
The Tibetan Buddhist Monastery is like another world within Sarnath. As you walk through its compound, you see Tibetan monks in their maroon robes. There are prayer wheels that devotees can turn. The monastery itself was built in the Tibetan style.
